Reimagining The Possibilities

Long over due post, a year to be exact. But what a year it has been!

At the 2019, Edwardsville Art Show, I was fortunate enough to receive an award of Excellence along with some of my former classmates and our Instructor. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has an outstanding metalsmithing program, and the instructor (Aimee Howard-Clinger) is the glue that holds it all together.

I came to SIUE as a mixed-media artist who liked to wire wrap the occasional crystal. OK, I can admit it... I've always been a crystal wearing hippie. But the training I received at SIUE gave me a solid foundation in traditional metalsmithing techniques. And from that, I've been able to start forging out my own style of Jewelry.

Mixing Things Up!

Crisp lines with elegant twists have always been a trademark of my wire-wraps, but learning the techniques of anticlastic forging and stone setting have elevated my jewelry making game by leaps and bounds.

The solid silver swoops through my style of making jewelry to collide with elegance and really cool rocks. LOL! The combination of contemporary crispness with classic elegance is still a key feature in my jewelry. From solid silver to something more basic and back to Earth, I strive to make things that resonate with a minimalist style or a mom Jewelry should be versatile and unique, without overpowering the stone or the wearer.

From the workday, to the PTA zoom meeting, through dinner and story-time without missing a beat. The jewelry I make moves effortlessly through your day with you. Sometimes I get a little fancy with the hammers, but for the most part I strive for excellence through elegance. Simple elegance never goes un-noticed, and neither should you.
