Being an artist often means hearing no a lot... its more polite than that. It’s more like “although there was an abundance of excellent work submitted, we regret to inform you that your piece was not accepted to this show.” It’s always a bummer. It’s always a little discouraging but I know that’s part of the game. But there are a lot of reasons not to give up. And none of them have to do with awards, or sales. That’s actually a title from one of my early paintings, haha! But it fits for this new wave of my jewelry as well. I’m trying to find my style, and it lies somewhere in the name More Than Wire. There is a collision of styles in my jewelry. By combining wire wrapping skills with historic metalsmithing techniques, my work is reaching new mlevels. And the idea of contemporary and historic continues to flourish in my work!
